As Kai and his companions approached, the onlookers noticed them and stepped aside.
In this God and Demon Battlefield, everyone had reverted to being ordinary individuals, leading them to act with caution; a simple clash could result in serious injury.
These cultivators, who had spent years honing their skills, found that without their spiritual powers, their physical strength was likely no greater than that of average people.
Once the crowd parted, Kai and the others caught sight of three stone statues standing in the center of the valley. While not large—about the size of a typical person—their ominous faces, twisted in various grotesque expressions, sent chills down the spine.
“What’s happening here?”
Lin Keting inquired, scanning the crowd for answers.
An elderly man stepped forward and explained, “These stone statues possess strange powers. When someone approaches them, they become disoriented, plagued by visions, and may ultimately lose consciousness. I barely managed to escape after a fierce struggle.”
Realizing that the people around the statues had likely fainted, Kai and the others exchanged concerned glances.
“Do you notice anything unusual?”
Lin Keting turned to Kai for his insight.
Having a background in formation arts, Kai speculated that the statues might be linked to the boulders they had encountered earlier, possibly employing a Vertigo Formation or something similar.
However, he shook his head, saying, “I don’t see any formations, but I am certain there’s no formation around these statues. There could be another factor at play.”
“But since we’re all just ordinary people now, even if these statues can induce fainting, their power is likely limited…”
This was Kai’s reasoning; he wasn’t entirely sure, and he knew he needed a closer look.

Kai called out, concerned for her safety.

Lin Keting replied, waving him off as she continued towards the statues.
The crowd watched in silence, and the Right Blind Elder moved closer, placing himself protectively in front of Lin Keting. “Eldest Miss, you mustn’t take such a risk. If something goes wrong, we won’t be able to justify it.”
“I just want to understand what makes those statues so special…”
Lin Keting insisted.
“Right Blind Elder, even with your sword intent, you’re still an ordinary person. You can’t withstand a divine sense attack,”
he cautioned.

Lin Keting reassured him as she moved closer to the statues.
In no time, she stood in front of the three stone figures. However, as she got nearer, she suddenly experienced a wave of dizziness, and her vision began to twist and blur!

Just then, she felt a shadow envelop her, and she was pulled into a protective embrace.
