An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2315
“Not again!” Veronica exclaimed, her face going pale.
Just then, the effects of her paralysis began to fade. She had no time to think when she saw frost arrows falling toward her again.
Gripping her spear tightly, she spun it around. The spear whirled like a helicopter blade, creating strong winds that formed a protective barrier about ten feet in front of her.
The frost arrows hit the wind barrier with loud crackling sounds. The force of the impact made Veronica stagger backward, leaving her arms numb.
Earlier, the Blood Ward spell had drained a lot of her energy. Now, she struggled to keep up as Azalea continued her relentless attacks.
“Void Mire!”
While Veronica was still defending against the frost arrows, Azalea made another hand gesture. She crouched down and slammed her hand onto the ground.
Suddenly, the ground beneath Veronica turned soft and swampy, like quicksand. As she tried to pull back, her feet sank deeper into the muck.
The worst part was how strongly the mire pulled at her legs, making it difficult for her to escape.
With frost arrows raining down from above and the mire threatening to trap her from below, Veronica found herself in a tough spot, unable to defend against both attacks.
“You despicable trickster! If you have the guts, face me directly!” Veronica shouted in frustration.
She was a master at using her spear, with plenty of combat experience. She knew she could defeat her opponent quickly in close combat.
But Azalea never gave her that chance. She kept attacking from a distance with her spells.
What frustrated Veronica the most was Azalea’s endless tricks.
In one moment, Veronica found herself caught in vines, and in the next, she was bombarded with fiery attacks. Then came the shocking paralysis, followed by a storm of icy arrows. Now, Azalea had summoned a swamp to trap her.
Despite Veronica’s incredible spear skills, they were useless against Azalea’s relentless and varied attacks. It was incredibly frustrating to feel so outmatched.
If it weren’t for Azalea’s Elysian amulet, Veronica believed she would have won by now. It was maddening how close she was to victory, only to be stopped at the last second.
“What’s wrong with using sneaky tricks? If it leads to victory, anything is fair game,” Azalea said, popping a Gerandium into her mouth.
She had just spent a lot of energy on her spells. But luckily, she had a valuable bottle of Gerandium with her. This would allow her to attack freely and unleash her full power.
“Ready for more? Here comes another round!” After taking the pill, Azalea felt a surge of energy. Her strength quickly came back to life.
She raised her hand again, and thousands of frost arrows filled the sky, creating a dense barrage that blocked out the sun.
“You… You’re despicable!” Veronica shouted in frustration.
Azalea didn’t pause her attack. With the Gerandium boosting her energy, she didn’t have to worry about running out of power. How could Veronica compete with that?
“Damn it! This woman just doesn’t know when to quit,” Veronica thought.
“First, it’s the Elysian amulet, and now this precious Gerandium! When did the Mystic Arts Order’s disciples become so rich?” the onlookers whispered among themselves as they watched Azalea use her various artifacts.
Allies of the Alliance were very vocal. Their comments were filled with frustration, jealousy, and disbelief.
The match was meant to test skill, but Azalea’s use of powerful artifacts and potions gave her a big edge.
“Fall!”
Ignoring the whispers around her, Azalea shot another wave of frost arrows at Veronica.
Veronica was stuck in a muddy trap and couldn’t move. She could only swing her spear and focus her energy to block the attacks.
Each frost arrow hit her hard, making her body shake and her arms feel numb. Her movements slowed, and she quickly ran out of energy.
As her defense weakened, a few arrows broke through, leaving her with painful wounds. The freezing power of the arrows made it even harder for her to move.
After taking a beating from the frost arrows, Veronica looked battered and defeated.
Azalea continued her attack, popping two more precious Gerandium into her mouth to regain energy.
Seeing this made Veronica’s heart sink with despair. If only she had an Elysian amulet or Gerandium, she might have been able to fight back. But she didn’t have any.
“Again!” Azalea shouted, bursting with energy and confidence. She raised her hand again, and a thick cloud of frost arrows gathered above Veronica.
Veronica’s heart dropped as she realized what was coming.
With the constant spell attacks and the boost from the Gerandium, who could survive this?
In a panic, Veronica cried out, “Wait! I surrender! I surrender!” She was badly injured, her energy was gone, and she had no strength left to keep fighting.
If she didn’t give up now, the consequences could be dire.
The next wave of frost arrows could either kill Veronica or leave her badly hurt. Realizing she had no chance of winning, she decided it was better to surrender and avoid any more pain.
“Wait, you want to give up? I just took two Gerandium and was really looking forward to fighting,” Azalea said with a hint of regret.
If she had known Veronica was going to surrender, she wouldn’t have used the expensive pills. Every bit of money saved mattered.
Veronica felt a mix of frustration and helplessness as she saw the disappointed look on Azalea’s face.
