“What?” The round-faced man stared at Dustin in shock. Dustin was calm and composed, but the round-faced man knew how much pain the steel whip could inflict. Even the toughest men couldn’t handle more than ten lashes, yet Dustin seemed perfectly fine after taking even more. In fact, he had shattered three whips. What was going on? “Brat, what kind of magic do you have?” he growled.

“Cut the nonsense and get on with it,” Dustin replied with a yawn. His relaxed attitude only made the round-faced man angrier.

“Damn it! I want to see you survive this!” The round-faced man grabbed a sword from one of his subordinates and swung it at Dustin. There were two loud clinks as the blade hit Dustin’s body twice; he was unharmed, but the sword was chipped.

“Is that an Adamantine Shield?” Jade gasped. Being part of the martial world, she quickly understood what was happening. Dustin’s ability to block weapons showed he had mastered a strong defensive technique. However, it required a lot of internal energy. Most martial artists couldn’t maintain it for long. “Regular weapons won’t work on him. We need to call in a professional,” Jade said.

“Hmph! I’ll admit this brat isn’t a typical martial artist; no wonder you all struggled with him. But he’s up against me now!” The round-faced man narrowed his eyes.

“Do you have a plan to deal with him?” Jade asked cautiously.

“We soldiers are good at fighting enemies, not at torture. But it doesn’t matter. I know someone in the Ministry of Penalties who is an expert. Once he arrives, this brat will be begging for death!” The round-faced man grinned savagely.

“Oh? Who is this expert?” Jade asked, intrigued.

“Expert?” Jade’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

“Bloodbeast, one of the two most powerful executioners from the Ministry of Penalties!” the round-faced man replied.

“Wait, you know him?” Jade gasped. Although she wasn’t part of the authorities, she had heard terrifying stories about Bloodbeast.

People whispered that he killed without hesitation and had a taste for human blood. Throughout his time with the Ministry, he was responsible for the deaths of hundreds, if not thousands. Each victim suffered brutal torture, making many wish for death long before it came. That’s why many criminals chose to end their own lives rather than face Bloodbeast—at least that way, their deaths would be quick and painless.

“Torturing others is Bloodbeast’s favorite hobby, especially when it comes to powerful martial artists. They are hard to kill, and he loves the challenge! Someone like this brat is just what he enjoys!” The round-faced man’s eyes gleamed with excitement.

“This brat won’t stand a chance against Bloodbeast, no matter how tough he thinks he is! If you can get Bloodbeast to agree, that is.” Jade sneered, hoping for the worst for Dustin. She wanted him to experience the most horrific torture imaginable.

“I’ll contact him right now.” The round-faced man pulled out his phone and began dialing.

“Enjoy your last moments of peace, Rhys! Once Bloodbeast arrives, it’s all over for you!” Jade sneered at Dustin. He had often talked about karma catching up with people, and she was eager for him to face his own consequences.

Dustin didn’t even bother to look at her. Instead, he closed his eyes, taking a moment to rest.

“Jade, it’s way too hot standing here…”

“Let’s sit in the shade,” the round-faced man said as he led Jade to a table after finishing a call.

A moment later, Dustin spoke up. “Hey, I’m hungry. Is there anything to eat?”

“Feeling hungry, are you? Someone get him some snacks!” the round-faced man chuckled. Before long, a soldier brought over food and drinks and set them down by Dustin’s feet.

“How am I supposed to eat like this? Can you loosen my bonds?” Dustin asked calmly.

The round-faced man laughed mockingly. “My kindness only goes so far. It’s not my fault you can’t reach it. Since you’re so strong, why don’t you try breaking free from those chains?”
