“Hello, is this Mr. Langford? Dahlia has something to say to you,” Florence said as she handed the phone to Dahlia after the call connected.

“Dahlia? Let me know if you need anything. I’ll help if I can,” a voice replied lazily.

“It’s me, Mr. Langford,” Dahlia said firmly. “I’ll get straight to the point. A friend of mine has been arrested by the military, and I need your help to save him.”

“Arrested by the military? Sounds like your friend is in serious trouble,” Luis responded with a hint of arrogance.

“I wouldn’t come to you if I had any other options,” Dahlia replied, feeling tired.

“What’s your friend’s name?” he asked.

“Dustin Rhys,” she answered.

“Okay, I’ll help you, but on one condition,” Luis said.

“What is it?” Dahlia asked, curious.

“Take me to dinner tonight,” Luis said plainly.

Dahlia paused, realizing what he meant. “Um…” she hesitated.

“You won’t turn down such a small request, will you?” Luis teased lightly.

“Of course not,” Dahlia said, forcing a smile. “It’s nothing compared to what you’re offering to do for me.”

“Awesome! It’s a date. See you later!” Luis replied cheerfully.

Dahlia hung up after a bit more small talk.

“Well? Did he agree?” Florence asked eagerly.

“He did, but now I have to have dinner with him tonight,” Dahlia said with a sigh.

“That’s great! Hurry home and get ready. Don’t keep Mr. Langford waiting,” Florence urged excitedly.

“Dahlia, you should make the most of this chance,” Dakota advised with a knowing smile. “Glenstead is interested in seeing your relationship with the Langfords grow, possibly even to marriage. They initially had someone else in mind, but Mr. Langford wasn’t happy with her.”

“You have a great opportunity here. Don’t waste it!”

Dahlia shook her head. “I’m not interested in marrying into a rich family.”

“Who else would you marry? Someone like Dustin? What’s wrong with you?” Dakota rolled her eyes. “If you marry into the Langford family, you can have anything you want. Why would you choose to stay in a small place like this?”

“Exactly! You’ve hit the jackpot. You should take advantage of this chance. Our family is counting on you to get rich!” Florence added.
