“I was, but I’m already divorced,” Dustin said simply.

“Aw, damn!” Adam smiled. “If that’s true, my sister finally has a chance! I’ll be your brother-in-law soon.”

“Get lost!” Dustin rolled his eyes. “What kind of brother are you? Why would you put your sister in this position?”

“She put herself there!” Adam shot back, frustrated. “You have no idea how much she bugged me after finding out you were still alive. She would have flown back for you if the war hadn’t broken out at the border.”

“Is Scarlet doing okay?” Dustin asked suddenly.

“Are you still worried about her? That kid has been practicing martial arts since she was young. With her talent, she’s already a grandmaster. I can’t even win against her now. Who would dare to cross her?” Adam replied nervously.

Adam had always been afraid of two people in his life—Dustin, who had been punching him since they were kids, and his sister Scarlet. He always felt humiliated around them.

Dustin chuckled. “She is talented, so it makes sense that you can’t beat her.”

It had been ten years. He never expected the little girl who used to follow him everywhere to become Stonia’s famous Goddess of War.

“Why don’t you just marry her? No one else can handle her!” Adam urged. The sooner his sister got married, the sooner he could stop being her sparring partner and end up with bruises all over his body every day.

“That’s nonsense!” Dustin kicked Adam playfully. “Scarlet is just like a sister to me.”

“But she might not see you as just a brother,” Adam shrugged. “I’m just saying, she probably won’t marry anyone but you, so you’ll have to take responsibility for her.”

“That’s enough. Shut up and drink!” Dustin said, feeling irritated.

Dustin poured Adam a full glass of wine. “Drink it!” he urged.

Adam, feeling bold, quickly drank the whole glass. They chatted and laughed, and soon enough, both of them started to feel a bit tipsy.

“That reminds me, when are you going back?” Adam asked, his tone a bit cold.

“Why would I go back? It’s nice here. All I have to do is make sure Gregory gets better,” Dustin replied casually.

“That’s true. But the Rhys family still needs an heir,” Adam sighed.

“There’s still Austin,” Dustin said.

“That useless idiot? He only cares about his wild parties. Who knows how many people will suffer if he takes your place?” Adam snapped.

“He isn’t that bad. The kid’s smart. Just give him some time, and he might surprise you,” Dustin said seriously.

“Are you serious? You’re comparing me to him?” Adam looked at him with suspicion.

“People have called me a loser for years too,” Dustin smiled but didn’t say more. With that woman around, his step-brother could never be ordinary.

“Wow! Look at that girl!” Adam suddenly exclaimed.

“Where?” Dustin followed Adam’s gaze and saw a Lamborghini parked at the restaurant entrance. A well-dressed man stepped out, and a stunning woman in a long black dress got out from the passenger side, looking like she stepped right out of a painting.

“Why is it her?” Dustin frowned, instantly feeling more serious.

The beautiful woman was none other than Dahlia!
