“Watch out!” Dahlia shouted as the truck sped toward them. Without thinking about her own safety, she pushed Dustin away and shut her eyes tightly, fearing the worst. In that moment, she thought maybe dying like this wouldn’t be so bad. At least he would remember her forever.

Suddenly, a strong figure rushed in front of her. With a loud bang, a fist hit the truck, causing metal to crumple. The force flipped the truck over, and it crashed down behind Dahlia, sending debris flying everywhere.

“Are you okay, Dahlia?” Dustin asked, pulling his hand back and checking her for injuries. He sighed in relief when he saw she was unharmed.

“What just happened?” Dahlia asked, her eyes wide as she looked at the overturned truck in shock. She couldn’t believe it was now behind her. If it was because of Dustin’s strength, she might faint.

“Are you crazy? Why didn’t you run when you saw danger? Why would you think of me first?” Dustin shouted angrily. Thank goodness he had quick reflexes, or she could have been seriously hurt.

“I didn’t know what to think in that moment,” Dahlia replied, still pale from fear.

“From now on, you need to put your safety first!” Dustin warned her firmly. If something happened to her because of him, he would feel guilty forever.

“Hey, can I get some attention too?” Adam said, getting up with a grumpy expression.

“What the heck? Even when you save someone, you throw the truck toward me? Do you not care about my life? What happened to bros before hoes?”

“Yeah, I guess I could use some rest,” Josh replied, rubbing his eyes.

“Go home and get some sleep. We’ll handle things here,” his boss insisted.

Josh nodded, grateful for the chance to leave. He grabbed his jacket and headed out, feeling the cool night air hit his face as he stepped outside.

Meanwhile, at the villa, Dustin was still fuming. He couldn’t believe the Hummers had put a bounty on his head. He felt anger boiling inside him, thinking about how they dared to come after him again after everything he had been through.

“Adam, find out what else you can about the Hummers,” he ordered, his tone sharp.

“Sure thing. I’ll dig deeper,” Adam responded, already pulling out his phone.

Dustin’s mind raced with thoughts of revenge. He wouldn’t let them get away with this.

Back at the Hummer Villa, the atmosphere was tense. “What’s our next move?” one of the men asked, looking around at the group.

“We need to be ready. Dustin won’t take this lightly,” another replied, glancing at the door nervously.

Josh, now home and trying to relax, couldn’t shake the feeling that something big was about to happen. He decided to call Dahlia to check in on her. As the phone rang, he hoped she was safe.

“Hey, it’s me,” he said when she answered.

“Josh! I’m alright, just had a long day. How about you?” she replied, sounding relieved to hear his voice.

“I’m good, just tired. Let’s catch up tomorrow?” he suggested.

“Definitely. Take care, okay?”

“Will do. See you,” he said before hanging up, feeling a sense of calm wash over him, even as the storm brewed in the background.

Dustin, still in the shadows, made his way towards the Hummer Villa, ready to confront the threat head-on. The night was far from over.

Tina brought some medicine to Joshua’s bedside.

“I don’t want to take them right now,” Joshua said with a frown. “Jade hasn’t come back since this morning, and I can’t get her on the phone. Do you think something’s wrong?”

“Stop worrying, Josh. She’s from the Grant family. What could possibly happen?” Tina replied, shaking her head.

“Do you think she’s upset about my injury and wants to break up with me?” Joshua asked, his voice filled with concern.

Since his injury, he had lost his confidence and felt anxious.

“Of course not!” Tina said firmly. “I can see how much she cares about you. I bet she’s out there doing everything she can for you. Didn’t she promise to take care of things before she left this morning? So just relax.”

“I guess I’m just overthinking things,” Joshua sighed. As the once-great Chosen One, he felt like a different person now.

“Josh, try to rest and don’t stress too much. Dad went to Millsburg to get medicine from Dr. Watkins. You’ll be back on your feet in no time with the right treatment,” Tina reassured him.

“You’re right. When I recover, I’ll rise to the top again!” Joshua said with determination. “I’ll make Rhys pay for what he did!”

Suddenly, the lights went out, leaving the room in darkness.

“What’s going on?” Joshua asked, feeling anxious.

“Just stay calm, Josh. The power must have gone out,” Tina said as she moved to the door. She called out, “Can someone check the breaker?”

But there was only silence in the villa, making it feel eerie.

“Hey! Is anyone there?” Tina shouted again, but no one answered.

Joshua felt a growing sense of dread. “Something’s not right! We need to get out of here!”

He jumped up, ready to run, when a tall figure stepped into the room.

The room was silent.

“Who are you?” Joshua shouted, his voice filled with fear.

“The person who’s going to kill you,” the figure replied. As the moonlight streamed through the window, Joshua finally saw the stranger’s face.

“It’s you? W-why are you out? I thought you were arrested!” Joshua’s heart raced. Just that morning, he had received a message from Tina saying the military had captured Custin. How could he be free so soon?

“Any last words?” Custin asked coldly.

Tina, standing nearby, warned, “You better not mess around, Rhys! We have Boulderthorn and the Grants’ protection. If you—”

Before she could finish, Custin flicked his wrist, and a silver needle shot out, hitting her forehead.

Tina twitched, then tilted her head back and collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
