An Understated Dominance - Chapter 307
“Forget it. I was just trying to return your kindness earlier. Since you don’t want to, never mind,” Ralph said, shaking his head with a look that suggested they would regret their decision one day.
Dustin and Maximus exchanged amused looks but said nothing.
“Let’s go. Since we ran into each other, I might as well escort you two up, just in case there’s any trouble again,” Ralph added as he walked ahead, his hands clasped behind his back.
“You two are lucky to walk with my grandpa!” Abby huffed, glaring at them before quickly catching up with Ralph.
Dustin smiled and followed without objection. After all, there was only one path up the mountain.
They moved quickly and soon reached the top. In the center, there was a platform where Dustin was supposed to fight Tatum. A crowd had already gathered, mostly made up of martial artists, which made the atmosphere lively.
“Mr. Dunn? Nice to meet you,” one person said.
“I’ve heard so much about you, Mr. Dunn. It’s an honor to meet you,” another added.
As soon as Ralph arrived, many people rushed to greet him. It was clear that the Steel Legion was quite well-known.
“Do you know how powerful my grandpa is now?” Abby teased. “I bet you regret your choice now. But it’s too late!”
Dustin acted like he didn’t hear her, while Maximus simply turned his head away.
“I heard you’re the witness for today’s match, Mr. Dunn. Who do you think will win?” someone asked.
“Isn’t it obvious? Fanatic Blade, of course!” Abby jumped in. “Tatum is the principal disciple of Royal Valor and a member of the Heavenly Immortals. He’s never lost a fight.”
“That might be true, but I heard Dustin Rhys is not someone to underestimate either,” someone replied.
“Even Joshua Hummer, who just achieved divinity, lost to him,” someone chimed in. “Why would you compare Tatum to Joshua?” Abby scoffed. “One hasn’t even fully reached divinity yet, while the other did that five years ago. With Tatum’s skills today, how hard can it be for him to beat a country bumpkin?”
“She’s right. No matter how I look at it, Tatum has a better chance of winning,” Ralph said, and everyone quickly agreed.
Ralph was a respected senior martial artist and the witness for today’s duel, so everyone trusted his opinion.
Dustin looked around at the group and smiled, shaking his head.
“What’s so funny? Did Grandpa say something wrong?” Abby asked, clearly annoyed.
“Aren’t you all being a bit too quick to judge? The battle hasn’t even started yet,” Dustin replied, still smiling.
“Why? Do you think Dustin has a chance?” Abby asked, pouting.
“We’ll only find out once the battle begins,” Dustin answered.
