An Understated Dominance - Chapter 314
“Don’t ever show up in front of me!” Maximus shouted as he kicked Luther aside and walked away.
“Got it…” Luther replied, forcing a smile. But when Maximus turned his back, Luther’s eyes glinted with malice. He picked up a sword from the floor and stabbed it towards Maximus.
“Look out!” Dustin yelled. Maximus reacted just in time, dodging to the side. Though he avoided a fatal blow, the sword left a deep cut on his waist that bled heavily.
Luther was shocked that his surprise attack had failed. He quickly tossed the sword aside and begged, “Max! I was wrong! I made a mistake! Please don’t hold it against me!”
“You stubborn old donkey!” Maximus yelled, furious. He drew his own sword and charged at Luther, ready for revenge.
“Stop!” a booming voice interrupted. A powerful figure landed in front of Luther, blocking Maximus’s path.
The man, in his thirties, radiated strength, with sharp eyes that held an aggressive gleam. He was as imposing as a mountain. This was Tatum Thunders, known as the “Fanatic Blade.”
Tatum glared at Maximus and shouted, “I said stop!” He raised his hand, and a giant palm appeared out of nowhere, striking Maximus in the chest. Maximus coughed up blood and was thrown back ten feet, clearly no match for Tatum’s power.
“Wow! It’s Tatum Thunders!” someone in the crowd exclaimed.
“He’s the ace of Royal Valor! With just one punch, he has seriously injured his opponent,” another person added.
“That young man did well to defeat Mr. Williams, but he’s no match for Tatum!” someone else chimed in.
“Tatum truly lives up to his nickname, the Fanatic Blade!” the crowd murmured in awe.
The crowd gasped at the sight of Tatum. From the very first move, he showed off the incredible skills of The Heavenly Immortals, something that The Hundred Immortals could only dream about.
“That’s our Tatum! He’s so cool!” Abby cheered, clapping her hands with excitement as she admired the man on the platform. Being ranked among The Heavenly Immortals was her biggest dream, and she hoped her future partner would be one of them too.
“Hmph! How dare you hurt your mentor in public! It’s so wicked of you!” a voice boomed. The speaker was furious and declared, “There’s no place for trash like you in martial arts. Today, I will carry out God’s will!” With that, he threw a powerful punch at Maximus, aiming to seriously hurt him.
“Oh no, he’s in trouble!” people whispered, shaking their heads in sympathy. While Maximus was talented, he was no match for Tatum. Just when it seemed like Maximus was about to be defeated, someone jumped onto the platform and stopped the punch.
The force of the punch faded away, replaced by a cloud of smoke. Dustin glared at Tatum and said coldly, “Boulderthorn disciples are all the same—shameless.”
“Who are you? How dare you interfere?” Tatum growled, glaring back.
“I’m Dustin Rhys, the one you want to fight,” Dustin replied confidently.
“What? Is that really Dustin Rhys?” The crowd fell silent in shock. Abby and Ralph stared at Dustin, realizing that the martial arts genius they had been talking about was standing right next to them.
