An Understated Dominance - Chapter 315
“Wow, who is that kid? He’s really brave to challenge Tatum in public! Is he looking for trouble?”
“He’s bold, but he’s not the brightest,” someone replied.
Dustin quickly became the center of attention. No one expected a martial artist to face off against Tatum at the last minute.
“Hey! What are you doing up there? Are you crazy? Get down now!” Abby shouted at Dustin. To her, he was just a clueless young man who didn’t know his place.
“What’s that guy thinking? Doesn’t he realize he’s up against Tatum Thunders, one of The Heavenly Immortals? He’s going to get himself killed!” Ralph shook his head sadly, predicting Dustin’s downfall. After all, Ralph wasn’t strong enough to take on Tatum and didn’t expect a nobody like Dustin to succeed either.
“Hmph! That reckless kid! How dare he insult Tatum? He’s going to regret this!” Brody and his friends laughed, eagerly waiting for Tatum to take care of both Dustin and Maximus, whom they considered traitors.
“Who do you think you are, standing in my way?” Tatum glared at Dustin, his eyes narrowed. No one had ever dared to stop him from taking down his targets.
“Tatum! He’s Dustin Rhys! Get rid of him!” Brody yelled from the platform.
“What? Dustin Rhys?” The audience gasped. They had thought Dustin was just showing off, but now they realized he was the martial arts genius who had recently made a name for himself.
“Is that really him? I can’t believe it!” Abby was stunned, realizing that the dark horse she had been talking about was standing right next to her all along.
“Wow! I almost missed the hidden talent!” Ralph exclaimed, equally shocked. If Dustin could defeat Joshua Hummer and felt confident enough to challenge Tatum Thunders, he had to be a highly skilled martial artist. Ralph felt embarrassed for offering to mentor Dustin, realizing that Dustin was much more advanced than he was.
“If I had known he was Dustin Rhys, I would have tried to befriend him!” Ralph said regretfully.
“Absolutely! We missed our chance!” Ralph’s martial arts friends echoed their disappointment. It was well-known that having a martial arts genius could significantly improve any guild, especially smaller ones. They could enter a golden age if they had such a talent.
“Oh, kid, you’re Dustin Rhys?” Tatum chuckled. “You’re sealing your fate! For killing Joshua, you won’t get away today!”
“Joshua said something like that too, but he’s dead now,” Dustin replied, unfazed.
“Ha! You’re bold!” Tatum observed him closely. “But you’re mistaken if you think you can compare Joshua to me! You have no idea how terrifying someone from The Heavenly Immortals can be!”
“Terrifying?” Dustin scoffed. “More like ridiculous. You think you’re impressive, but you’re just a frog in a well.”
“What did you just say?” Tatum’s face grew serious. He had never been disrespected since becoming famous.
“I was being nice, calling you a frog in the well. But it turns out you’re just a worm in a rotten apple!” Dustin didn’t hold back, and his harsh words shocked the audience, who didn’t expect him to be so bold. Everyone felt a chill at the thought of angering Tatum Thunders.
That would be a way to invite death.
“Oh, great! Look at you, being so stubborn and not even realizing how close you are to death. You’ll be scared out of your mind when you face it!” Tatum shouted, filled with anger. She swung her fist into the air, and a shadowy figure formed around it.
