An Understated Dominance - Chapter 316
The force of Tatum’s punch rushed toward Dustin, feeling as heavy as a mountain. A martial artist who had reached a divine level could easily take out an opponent standing ten feet away with just a burst of their inner energy.
“He’s definitely one of The Heavenly Immortals! That punch could crush a car!” someone in the crowd exclaimed.
“That reckless kid shouldn’t have challenged Tatum Thunders. Now, he’s in trouble,” another martial artist murmured. The onlookers shivered as they watched the shadow of Tatum’s punch, convinced it was unstoppable.
But Dustin just smiled. He tapped his feet on the ground and vanished, easily dodging the punch.
“Quick on your feet! But let’s see how many times you can dodge my punches!” Tatum scoffed and threw three punches, each one faster and stronger than the last. Dustin danced around, calm and quick, avoiding each attack with his impressive skills.
“Damn! He’s like a slippery eel!” Brody exclaimed, frustrated. He wanted to see Dustin get crushed, but Dustin’s agility kept him safe from Tatum’s blows.
Ralph, watching from the sidelines, clicked his tongue in amazement. “I didn’t expect him to have such talent at his age.”
“So what? He’s just showing off. If he were truly skilled, he wouldn’t dodge all the time. In the end, he can’t beat Tatum!” Abby said with a pout. Even after learning about Dustin’s background, she still looked down on him. To her, a real fighter should face their opponent head-on, not hide.
“Is this really all ‘Fanatic Blade’ has to offer? How disappointing,” Dustin thought, shaking his head. He wondered if the standards for The Heavenly Immortals had dropped. A decade ago, only the very best were chosen to join their ranks.
“Watch your mouth, kid! Don’t get too cocky!” Tatum’s face darkened. “You
“Think you can impress me with a few tricks?” Tatum said, warming up. “Now, it’s time to show you just how much better I am!” He tapped his feet on the floor and lunged at Dustin. As he got close, he pulled back his hands before throwing a powerful punch. Instantly, a strong wind picked up, and shadows of his punch raced toward Dustin.
“Is that Tatum’s famous move that made him a star? The Crushing Waves from the Poseidon Punches?” someone gasped.
“Exactly! It’s the Crushing Waves, which can turn one punch into many. There’s no way to dodge it!” another replied.
“I bet Tatum is furious to see his signature move used like this. That guy is done for today,” someone else said.
The other martial artists watched in horror as the punches flew through the air. Even from a distance, they could feel the overwhelming force that could tear them apart.
“Dustin Rhys! It’s your end!” Brody laughed maliciously.
“That’s too bad. He can’t escape what’s coming,” Ralph said, sighing sadly.
“Didn’t we tell him to keep a low profile? He didn’t listen and now he’s in trouble with Tatum. No one can save him now!” Abby shook her head, preparing for Dustin’s demise.
But then, with a smirk, Dustin slapped away the punches in mid-air. The force of his counterattack hit Tatum squarely in the face. There was a loud bang, and Tatum flew back, crashing to the ground like a broken kite. The hall fell silent.
