An Understated Dominance - Chapter 317
An eerie silence filled the air as the crowd stared wide-eyed at Tatum’s lifeless body on the ground. They couldn’t believe what had just happened. Everyone had expected Dustin to lose when Tatum unleashed his signature attack. Instead, to their shock, Dustin sent Tatum flying with a single slap. It was a moment so unbelievable that no one could have imagined it without seeing it firsthand. They wondered: Was it just a fluke, or was Dustin truly that strong?
“Did I really see that? Was Tatum… defeated?” someone gasped.
“This is unheard of!” another voice cried out.
After a few moments of stunned silence, the crowd erupted into a chaotic buzz of chatter. Shock, confusion, and disbelief filled the air as they processed that the Fanatic Blade, one of the Heavenly Immortals, had been defeated by Dustin. “That’s impossible! How did that kid beat Tatum? He must have used some sneaky tricks!” Brody exclaimed, shaking his head in disbelief. Luther frowned, looking serious. “He’s definitely something else.”
On the other side, Abby and her friends were too stunned to speak. “This can’t be right! Did Tatum really lose?”
“Is that Dustin’s true power? He’s amazing!” Maximus said, watching in awe. No one else could have thrown the Fanatic Blade through the air like that.
Suddenly, Tatum let out a fierce roar and shot up from the ground. Gone was his earlier confidence; now he looked like a wild beast ready to attack.
“Oh! He’s back up! He really is one of the Heavenly Immortals!” Dustin exclaimed, surprised by Tatum’s quick recovery. Even the strongest martial artists would usually be out cold for a while after a hit like that.
Dustin’s slap echoed in the air.
“You’re a jerk! You’re finished! I’ll tear you to pieces today!” Tatum shouted, his eyes blazing with anger. As the ace of the Royal Valor and a skilled martial artist ranked as a Heavenly Immortal, he had never felt so humiliated. The thought of getting slapped and falling to the ground in front of so many people was unbearable.
“Someone bring me my brass ring saber!” he yelled, turning around. Almost instantly, two men appeared, carrying a massive weapon that was five feet long. It was heavy and thick, too cumbersome for most martial artists to lift, let alone swing around.
“Awesome! Tatum is finally serious!” Brody said with a smile, feeling a wave of calm wash over him. There was a reason Tatum was known as the Fanatic Blade. He had two signature techniques: the Poseidon Punches, which were great for both offense and defense, and very unpredictable, and the Blade of Gale!
Rumor had it that when Tatum used the Blade of Gale, it could leave an area completely barren. This technique was much more aggressive than his punches, like a powerful wind that swept away everything in its path.
“He should have used the blade from the start. Even a predator has to give it their all, even when hunting small prey,” Luther said, relieved that Tatum now had the blade.
“I almost forgot that Tatum is a master with his blade technique. Dustin is in real trouble now,” Ralph said, narrowing his eyes in thought.
“Hmph! Tatum probably lost the earlier round because he was careless. Now that he’s serious, he could take down ten Dustin Rhyses!” Abby laughed, tossing her head back.
It felt like she had gotten her confidence back.
“Damn it! He said we would fight bare-handed, but now he suddenly brings out a blade. How shameless!”
