An Understated Dominance - Chapter 334
The next morning at the Empire Hotel, a grand wedding was taking place. The joining of two influential families had created quite a buzz in Swinton. Many businessmen, wealthy guests, and top officials arrived, excited for the event. Luxury wedding cars filled the hotel square, taking up nearly every parking spot. The street was closed off just for this special occasion.
Luis, dressed as the groom, stood at the lobby entrance to greet the guests. He only welcomed those of high status, while his staff took care of everyone else.
“Mr. Langford…” Wilson approached Luis and whispered, “There’s been a change. Dustin isn’t dead, and the assassins I sent out are missing.”
“What did you say? What’s the point of hiring you if you can’t handle this?” Luis frowned.
“I’m sorry. I underestimated him,” Wilson admitted, looking down in embarrassment.
“Forget it. After today, I’ll send someone to deal with him myself.” Luis was not too bothered by the news.
“Mr. Langford, there’s one more thing…” Wilson hesitated.
Luis felt a bit annoyed. “What now?”
In a low voice, Wilson said, “I heard that Dustin might try to interrupt the wedding.”
“Interrupt the wedding?” Luis paused, then burst out laughing. “Are you joking? My men are all here. Would he really dare to act up?”
“It’s wise to consider every possibility,” Wilson replied with an apologetic smile.
“He can try if he wants. I’d love to see how he plans to crash my celebration!” Luis sneered, feeling confident.
An ordinary person trying to challenge him? Luis wouldn’t hesitate to get his hands dirty if necessary, even at his own wedding.
Meanwhile, in one…
Dahlia sat in front of the dressing table, feeling dazed. Ever since Dustin came looking for her yesterday, she had been on edge, worried he might do something reckless. She tried to reach him with messages and calls, but he didn’t respond, which only made her more anxious.
“Dahlia, why are you so glum? You should be happy. It’s your big day!” Florence, her mother, walked in with a big smile and started picking out jewelry for her.
“Mom, do you think Dustin will come today?” Dahlia asked suddenly.
“Why do you care?” Florence frowned. “I checked out the area. It’s heavily guarded with security everywhere. If Dustin tries to break in, he’ll just get hurt badly.”
Dahlia’s worry deepened at her mother’s words.
“Dahlia, stop thinking about him. He’s all talk. He won’t show up. He’s not stupid enough to put himself in danger,” Florence said, trying to comfort her.
Florence could see that her daughter still had feelings for Dustin, but she believed they could never be together. It had always been her dream for Dahlia to marry into a wealthy family, and she wouldn’t let anyone ruin that.
“I hope so…” Dahlia sighed, but her troubled expression didn’t change.
“Alright, it’s time to go,” Florence said with a smile, leading her daughter out.
At the venue, the seats were packed with distinguished guests. Amid the applause, Luis walked slowly up to the stage.
Taking the microphone from the officiant, he smiled brightly and said, “Dear guests, family, and friends, thank you for coming to my wedding. Today is the most important day of my life.”
“Even though I’ve only known Dahlia for a short time, the moment I saw her, I knew she was the only woman I wanted to marry! I hope everyone here today will witness our grand wedding.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the crowd broke into loud applause and cheers.
