An Understated Dominance - Chapter 353
The old lady stood frozen, watching in shock as the Eight Giants fell to the ground with heavy thuds, one after another. All the calmness she had felt earlier was gone, replaced by sheer terror. The Eight Giants were famous bounty hunters who had never failed before this moment!
Since they had arrived, people had admired them for their skills. They could defeat any opponent effortlessly. She had believed that with the Eight Giants on her side, everything would go smoothly. Who would have thought they would be defeated in seconds? They hadn’t even had time to react! What kind of monster was the man standing in front of her?
“Is this the famous Eight Giants you’ve been bragging about? They’re pretty weak, aren’t they?” Dustin shook his head in disbelief. How could these mere mortals, who hadn’t even reached godlike status, think they could take him down?
“Y-you… What tricks did you use?” The old lady stumbled back, panic clear on her face.
“I have just one question for you. How many more Bounty Killers are after me?” he asked.
“I-I don’t know. We Bounty Killers work alone. I—”
“That’s enough. You can go straight to hell now.” Before she could finish her sentence, Dustin flicked his wrist, sending another silver needle flying. She fell dead on the spot.
The Bounty Killers were a mysterious group of bounty hunters. Each member was highly skilled, and they only got stronger. Dustin knew he needed to call off the bounty on himself and Natasha quickly, or else they would face more trouble.
Just then, his phone began to ring.
Dustin answered the call and realized it was Maximus. “Dustin! Things are bad here. The Boulderthorns have surrounded the medical center!”
“The Boulderthorns?” Dustin frowned. “Did Royal Valor send them?”
“Yes! Royal Valor sent all their best fighters too! They’re here to kill you! You need to hide. Whatever you do, stay away from here!” Maximus warned him.
They were heavily outnumbered. Even though Dustin was strong, he couldn’t take on all of Royal Valor’s warriors alone.
“I know what to do. Take Caitlyn and get her out of there,” Dustin said before ending the call.
“What’s wrong?” Natasha asked, looking worried as she sat next to him.
“Nothing much. Just a small problem at the medical center. You go back to Park Place first. I’ll make it up to you with dinner tomorrow,” Dustin said, smiling to reassure her.
“Okay. You take care!” Natasha nodded and drove off without asking more questions.
“What an exciting evening. Who would have thought Royal Valor would join in?” Dustin scoffed as he called a cab and headed back to Peaceful Medical Center.
The Boulderthorns were a powerful group in the Balerno martial arts discipline. Dustin had hoped to keep things peaceful with them, but since they weren’t backing down, he was ready to confront them directly.
When he arrived, he saw more than 20 cars tightly surrounding the Peaceful Medical Center. All the surveillance cameras had been destroyed, and Boulderthorn members blocked every alley. No one could get past their barriers. Several hundred elite Boulderthorn fighters were ready for a fight.
The guild members stood at the door, radiating a threatening energy. They looked ready to destroy anyone or anything that got in their way.
“Maximus Kane! This is the last time I’m asking you—where is Dustin?” A young man in a white shirt stepped forward, his sword aimed directly at Maximus. This was Keane Tovello, the second-most senior member of the Royal Valor guild. After Tatum Thunders’ death, he had taken on the role of the guild’s ace. To earn the respect of his fellow members, he needed to avenge Tatum.
“Keane Tovello, if you want to know, Dustin has already left Swinton. If you need anything from him, come to me!” Maximus shouted back.
“Hah! You fool! You’re just the type to hold back until death is right in front of you!” Keane shouted angrily. With a quick step, he leaped toward Maximus, trying to take him down.
“I’ve heard you’re skilled with a sword. Let’s see what you’ve got!” Maximus replied confidently. As energy surged through him, he unsheathed the sword from his back and launched it toward Keane’s chest in one swift motion.
Keane grunted as he swung his sword, creating sparks when their blades clashed, sending Maximus’s sword flying.
Maximus quickly jumped up and caught his sword in mid-air. With a flick of his wrist, he used the Illusory Sword technique, which created an illusion to distract his opponent.
Thanks to Dustin’s training, Maximus was ready to face Keane.
Maximus had perfected the Illusory Sword technique. With it, he created an illusion of countless swords flying through the air, all aimed at Keane. It was a truly impressive display.
“Superior skills indeed! No wonder you’re acting so arrogantly!” Keane shot Maximus a fierce glare and decided to fight back with everything he had.
In an instant, the peaceful night sky erupted with the sound of clashing swords and the swift movements of their duel. The elite members of the Boulderthorn guild instinctively stepped back to give them room.
