An Understated Dominance - Chapter 362
Hades mimicked a polite gesture from Dragonmarsh before raising his hand and bringing it down quickly. Suddenly, a loud thunderclap echoed around them, and a massive shadow, like a giant hand, appeared out of nowhere. With Hades’ swift motion, the shadow slammed down onto Rufus.
Under that enormous shadow, Rufus looked as small as an ant. If the hand had landed anywhere else, it would have turned the entire medical center into rubble, crushing anything in its path.
“Boom!” Even from far away, many Boulderthorn members fell to their knees, coughing up blood from the shockwave. It was always the innocent bystanders who suffered the most during battles between powerful beings.
Ultimate grandmasters were like living nuclear weapons! Just one of their moves could shake mountains and crack the ground open. Ordinary people had no chance against such power.
“Wait, what?” Dustin frowned as he saw the giant shadow overhead. Unsure about what to do next, he was suddenly surprised when an old man in white appeared and pulled Rufus behind him.
As the old man stood firm, he radiated brilliant golden light, and a giant, golden figure about 15 feet tall rose up behind him. In one swift motion, the giant’s fist collided with the massive shadow. With a loud bang, the shadow shattered into tiny pieces. The golden giant remained still and strong behind the old man, resembling a statue.
“Who are you?” Hades asked angrily. He had believed his assassination plan was foolproof.
They never thought a secret master could be right under their noses.
“You can call me Wilkins. I’m just a regular attendant in Aylka,” the old man said. He had white hair but looked almost childlike. When he spoke, he kept his gaze on the ground, showing that he felt humble and submissive, with no hint of authority.
“Mr. Wilkins?” Hades squinted, studying the man before him.
Suddenly, it hit him. “Oh! You’re Nestor Wilkins? The legendary master of the palace?”
“That’s just a rumor. Nothing more,” the old man replied, still looking embarrassed.
“I don’t care if it’s a rumor. I need you to leave right now, or I’ll make sure you never see the sunrise again!” Hades demanded. They were in Dragonmarsh territory, and he wanted to finish things quickly. The longer they waited, the more likely they were to fail.
“I can’t,” Nestor said, shaking his head. “I have two orders, and the first is to protect the prince.”
“Oh? What’s the second?” Hades asked, trying to sound uninterested.
“To annihilate the gods of Streuqua.” As he spoke, Nestor suddenly vanished. When he reappeared, he was just a few feet away from Hades.
“Huh?” Hades felt a chill run through him. His heart raced, and his skin crawled.
Before he could react, Nestor grabbed him by the throat and lifted him into the air. Hades felt paralyzed, unable to move a muscle. Gasps of shock echoed around them as everyone saw how helpless Hades was in this man’s grip.
“We have rules here. When you’re in our territory, you must obey our laws,” Nestor said firmly.
“Laws are the same for everyone,” Nestor declared. “It doesn’t matter if you’re a human, a demon, or a god. If you break our laws, you’ll face the consequences. And just so you know, no gods are allowed in Dragonmarsh!”
As he spoke, Nestor tightened his grip on Hades’ throat. With a loud crack, Hades’ neck snapped, and in an instant, he was gone.
