An Understated Dominance - Chapter 364
A person as powerful as Rufus should have been admired and respected by everyone. His very presence was like that of a god, so why was he acting so humbly?
“Prince of Theswe? Your Grace?” Clement stared blankly at Rufus and then at Dustin. A deep fear washed over him, unlike anything he had felt before.
There was only one Prince of Theswe, the ruler of West Lucozia. He controlled the Rhys household and ruled over Dragonmarsh. That remarkable figure was Rufus Rhys. Could it really be that this hunched, ugly old man was the invincible Prince of Theswe?
The thought terrified Clement so much that cold sweat broke out on his forehead, and he turned pale.
If Rufus was the Prince of Theswe, then Dustin, who was called “Your Grace,” must be his son. That would make him the famous Kirin, Logan Rhys!
Clement’s knees gave way, and he fell hard to the ground. His face was ashen, and despair filled his eyes. He wasn’t alone; the other two Williams men were also trembling with fear.
Brody shook like a leaf, and, in his fright, he had wet himself. None of them had imagined that the person they thought was just a minor figure was actually the son of the Prince of Theswe! And they had offended him!
“Get up, Mr. Wilkins. What’s a grown man doing kneeling everywhere? Oh, wait. I almost forgot. You’re not really a man, are you?” Rufus said with a teasing smile.
“Thank you, Your Highness.” Nestor’s eyes narrowed slightly as he regained his composure.
Rufus smiled as he spoke, pretending to be humble. “You’ve arrived just in time, Nestor. Did you follow me all the way here?”
Nestor bowed his head. “The master was worried about your safety, Your Highness. He sent me to protect you secretly. I apologize if I overstepped.”
“Protect me? You mean he sent you to spy on me,” Rufus said with a sly smile.
“Please, don’t misunderstand, Sir. You hold a significant position, and your safety affects all of Dragonmarsh. Even a minor injury to you could endanger the nation,” Nestor explained earnestly.
“Ha! What a loyal servant you are!” Rufus said, giving Nestor a friendly pat on the back.
“Thank you, Your Highness,” Nestor replied, nodding his head.
“We should leave this place, Sir. You should return to West Lucozia right away to avoid any trouble,” Nestor suggested.
“Oh? Are you telling me what to do?” Rufus’s smile faded, and his expression turned serious.
“I would never dare to,” Nestor said, still keeping his head down.
“If you’re a servant, then act like one. Don’t ever tell me what to do, or you’ll regret it,” Rufus warned.
“Yes, Your Highness,” Nestor replied, still looking at the ground.
“Why are you still here? Go away!” Rufus waved his hand impatiently.
“Yes, Sir,” Nestor said as he turned to leave.
Just then, Dustin stepped in front of him. “Wait! Did I say you could leave?”
Nestor lowered his head again. “Do you have any orders, Your Grace?”
“Tell me, were you involved in the incident ten years ago?” Dustin asked coldly.
“I don’t understand what you mean, Your Grace,” Nestor replied.
“Do you really not understand, or are you just pretending?” Dustin’s icy stare revealed his growing anger.
“I’ll ask you one last time. Did you have anything to do with my mother’s death?”
“You must be mistaken, Your Grace. I don’t know anything about it,” Nestor replied, shaking his head. “Who in all of Aylka could have stopped my mother if not you, the ultimate grandmaster?”
Dustin’s fists tightened as anger surged within him.
“As far as I know, the princess consort died from an illness,” Nestor said, trying to avoid the question.
“Forget your excuses! Go to hell, you rat!” Dustin shouted as he drew his sword and charged at him.
