Jim remarked, “They are likely coming for you.”

“I wonder if this was the work of my great-aunt or her sons?” Liberty pondered. “I doubt my great-aunt would make such a basic mistake. If she orchestrated it, she would have accelerated and struck me just as she was about to get close, leaving me little chance to dodge. It’s impossible for Kathryn to be behind this; we have a good personal relationship.”
Despite being business rivals—either she competes with Kathryn for her clients or vice versa—the two women maintained a friendly rapport. If Kathryn were not the young mistress of the Farrell family, they might have become close friends.
Liberty appreciated Kathryn’s personality greatly.
Liberty continued, “The three young masters of the Farrell family likely want to eliminate me, especially the eldest, Marco. I sent photos of him and Shiloh to his wife, so he must suspect I’m involved. Now that Shiloh is dead, he might seek revenge. My great-aunt has taken off again; she clearly wants me gone, but her method is rather clever.”
Jim replied thoughtfully, “Let’s investigate this further.”
Liberty responded, “Yes, but please don’t inform Serenity until you have thoroughly investigated to avoid causing her unnecessary worry.”
Liberty wanted to keep Serenity unaware of her near miss.
Fortunately, it had been her who was targeted. If Serenity had been involved, she could have fallen, and it would have been uncertain whether the baby in her womb could be saved.
Jim said, “Miss Hunt, we know that the eldest master has tasked us with following you, ensuring your protection, and adhering to your instructions.”
“I will refrain from informing the eldest master about minor issues without your permission.”
In significant situations, such as when Liberty was injured, they would not wait for her approval and would promptly inform Zachary. If anything serious were to happen to Liberty, they would not want to assume that responsibility.
They understood the strong bond between Serenity and Liberty. From the rushed marriage of Zachary and Serenity to the present, Jim had been a witness to their relationship. Liberty was aware that Jim and the others recognized their boundaries.
She also reached out to the bodyguards assigned to her by the Lewis and Stone families, instructing them to refrain from sharing any news with Wiltspoon for the time being and to wait until the investigation was complete.
After reminding the bodyguards, Liberty recalled the earlier incident and still felt a bit shaken. It appeared that some individuals truly did not value human life. If they had not been able to dodge in time, everyone in her group could have been struck down, resulting in serious injuries.
After all, she was accompanied by a secretary, several administrators, and a group of bodyguards trailing behind her.
After some contemplation, Liberty decided to call Kathryn. Kathryn was the young mistress of the Farrell family, and following Clarissa’s extended trip, she had temporarily taken charge of managing the family to expedite her investigation into her brothers.
Although Kathryn did not have a close relationship with her brothers, Liberty trusted that she would conduct a thorough investigation.
Kathryn promptly answered Liberty’s call, asking, “Liberty, what’s the matter?”
