Chapter 3540
Jane smiled as she took Enzo from Alannah’s arms. “Sonny is telling the truth; he is similar to my Titus.”
This statement had a double meaning. Both boys were intelligent and adorable, but they were also developing thicker skins, especially Titus.
Jane felt that Titus had matured significantly since his return this time.
He was still a little boy, yet very clever.
With a few mentors who didn’t regard the secular world seriously, they should not view Titus through a conventional lens.
“Titus and I are great friends, good buddies. My uncle says that Titus and I have played together since we were young and that we will remain childhood friends and close companions in the future.”
Sonny and Titus sat near Lilian, who was still holding Avah.
The adults present all chuckled.
It was heartening to see the two boys grow up together and become childhood friends.
One could even say it was intentional.
Sonny had the support of the York family and soon the Lewis family; he was also quite intelligent. As he matured, his prospects would be limitless. Titus needed strong allies.
Several elders were welcomed into the room.
The atmosphere became lively.

As soon as the elderly doctor entered, he took Fabian from his in-laws.
After being handed over, little Fabian looked up at the old doctor with wide eyes.
“Fabian, you haven’t seen me for a while; don’t you recognize your grandpa?”
Though he and Lilian were teacher and student, their bond was as close as that of father and daughter. He had raised Lilian, and once a teacher, always a father.
Even though Lilian didn’t call him dad, he had long occupied that role in her heart.
Fabian and…
The old doctor and Fabian shared a bond similar to that of a grandfather and grandson. No one found it odd that Fabian referred to the old doctor as “grandpa.”
Suddenly, little Fabian pouted, and tears began to form in his eyes. The little boy was actually crying. Distressed, the old doctor quickly tried to comfort his grandson, thinking that perhaps his absence had caused Fabian not to recognize him, leading to his reluctance to be held.
He attempted to hand Fabian back to Tim, but when Tim took him, Fabian cried even louder. Unable to bear his grandson’s tears, the old doctor took him back into his arms. This time, Fabian stopped crying upon returning to his grandfather.
The old doctor sat down with his grandson and, once the little one was calm, gently wiped away his tears. He looked up and glared at Lilian, asking, “Lilian, while I was away, did you bully Fabian? He just cried when he saw me, and it seems he was feeling wronged.”
Lilian responded, “Master, I am his biological mother, the one who carried him for ten months, not a stepmother! Please don’t portray me as a wicked stepmother; how could I possibly bully him?”
Alannah bluntly exposed Lilian’s lie and complained to the old doctor, saying, “Lilian just bit Fabian. We heard him crying from far away and rushed to comfort him just as you arrived.”
The old doctor, along with Silver Fox and the others, glared at Lilian. In an attempt to hide, Lilian clutched Avah tightly, flanked by the two mischievous boys, Titus and Sonny, leaving her without any allies.
She shrank back and giggled nervously, “He was so fair, tender, and chubby. I couldn’t resist biting him a little. This kid is only a few months old, yet he already complains. What will he be like when he grows up?”
He’ll likely complain every day; he’s a real complainer! “He always cries, unlike Avah, who is—”
“Such well-behaved children,” Lilian murmured softly.
The elderly doctor casually extended his hand and gave her arm a few light slaps.
Titus quickly lifted Sonny and repositioned him.
