-Serenity turned her head to look at Lilian again and asked, “Lilian, when are you leaving for Wiltspoon? Is it tonight or tomorrow?”
Lilian replied candidly, “Tonight. Mr. Jimenez is eager to return home. He has been waiting for this day for decades, and that belief has kept him going all this time.”
Serenity smiled and said, “How can I be sure you will actually go? Your master has returned, and he can’t leave right after coming back. Plus, Mr. Jimenez is elderly and has many health issues. He needs a doctor. If your master doesn’t accompany him, you will. I can figure this out without needing to ask. Those older gentlemen will likely say goodbye tomorrow, claiming they’re heading home, but in reality, they’re off to Jensburg.”
No one had told Serenity this; she deduced it herself.
Lilian complimented her, “Serenity, you have a sharp mind and an understanding of the bigger picture. It’s no wonder Young Master York cares for you so much. Don’t worry; everything will be alright. Just believe that good will triumph over evil. With me around, I can save lives even if they’re injured. I assure you, everyone you care about will be there and will return to Wiltspoon to celebrate the New Year with you.”
Jane grasped the situation and reassured Serenity, “Serenity, you can rest easy and focus on your pregnancy; don’t stress too much. With a few seniors going along, nothing will go wrong. My older brother and sister-in-law seem to have some free time lately. I’ll call my brother later and ask him and my sister-in-law to join in and have some fun. Since my sister-in-law is a disciple of the senior thief, she’ll definitely go if she knows the old man is heading to Jensburg for some excitement.”
Her brother and sister-in-law are not ordinary people.
“Jane, thank you, but it’s really not necessary. Can’t little Clarissa handle this on her own?”
As long as
Master Jimenez’s presence would suffice.
The seniors, feeling bored, went to enjoy the entertainment.
Jane remarked, “You’re welcome. It’s no trouble at all. If I don’t inform my sister-in-law, she might blame me when she discovers it later. Anyway, she and my eldest brother are free now, and we enjoy participating in the fun. If my husband and I weren’t tied up, we would have loved to join in as well. I relish seeing the bad guys get punished, brought to justice, and everything they stole returned.”
The satisfaction of witnessing a dramatic turnaround is quite fulfilling.
Although Jane has penned novels in the past, she struggles the most with writing plots that feature a satisfying twist of retribution. She believes that after all her experiences, if she were to write a novel again, she could capture that sense of satisfaction. However, she currently lacks the time to write. Once her children grow up and can take care of themselves, she and her husband plan to retire and enjoy a leisurely life, at which point she will have the time and interest to write again.
Lilian smiled and said, “Serenity, there’s no need to be formal. Just enjoy yourself! Listen to Jane, take a proper vacation here, eat when you should, drink when you should, do whatever you like, and be happy. Take good care of Sonny. When your sister returns for the New Year, you can present her with a chubby son. That would be better than anything else.”
Serenity couldn’t help but smile, “If Sonny becomes as round as a ball, my sister will have a lot to worry about. I’ll have to manage his diet and encourage him to exercise to shed some weight.”
To help him lose weight, she must control his diet, get him moving, and stick to that routine.
