“There’s no need to worry about the children. They’re active and get plenty of exercise, so they lose weight quickly,” said one of the adults.

Jane added, “Titus gained weight for a bit, but it didn’t last long, and he lost it quickly.”

“Sonny is practicing martial arts as well. As long as he doesn’t overeat, he won’t gain weight,” another adult chimed in.

“Serenity, Lilian is right. They all enjoy having fun. Even if I don’t invite them, they’ll find their own way to join in. You don’t need to feel overly indebted to me,” Jane reassured Serenity.

Jane comforted Serenity, telling her not to worry excessively about the situation in Jensburg. She shouldn’t feel obligated just because Jane had asked her brother and sister-in-law to go there.

Jane was simply trying to ensure her brother and sister-in-law had some enjoyable experiences.

“I’m not worried; I’m just looking forward to my sister’s return for the New Year,” Serenity said, nodding in appreciation.

Zachary had deliberately brought Serenity here to help her connect with Jane and others, with thoughtful intentions. Now, she was benefiting from his careful planning.

The support behind Jane and her friends was quite formidable.

As the eldest daughter of the York family, Serenity had limited backing aside from her aunt, Audrey. Nevertheless, the friends she made treated her genuinely, stepping up to help when she faced challenges. If she stood her ground, her friends would rally around her, providing her with significant strength.

Zachary had planned meticulously and was genuinely devoted to her. He had thought of everything and laid the groundwork for her success. Marrying him was a great honor in her life.

Remembering Zachary’s kindness, Serenity felt an urge to rush to Jensburg, but she held back. As long as she remained healthy and kept their child safe, that would be the best way to honor him.

Before long, the three of them heard the sound of laughter from nearby.

children.

Titus emerged with Sonny.

Both boys held windmills in their hands and ran together, excitedly watching the windmills spin rapidly.

Before joining Sonny, he had gone into his toy room to find the windmills he had previously received, which were well-preserved. Almost all of his windmills were gifts from Duncan.

Initially, Duncan wasn’t adept at engaging with children, but he took a liking to Sonny and often gifted him windmills.

Sonny’s enthusiasm for windmills was fleeting. Although Duncan frequently presented him with windmills, Sonny accepted them but seldom played with them, instead storing them all in his toy room.

Noticing that the windmills were in good condition, Sonny stuffed two of them into his small suitcase to bring and play with Titus.

As she observed the two boys playing with the windmills, Jane instinctively inquired, “Who took them to buy windmills so soon?”

Titus had windmills of his own, but he typically broke them within half a day of play.

As a result, unless Titus explicitly asked for a windmill, Jane would refrain from buying him one. Titus was notoriously destructive; no matter what he received, he would dismantle it. After taking it apart, he attempted to reassemble it himself, but at his young age, despite having strong hands-on skills, he often found that he couldn’t play with the toys he had reassembled, and sometimes, he couldn’t even put them back together.

Over time, the toys gifted to him became those that were difficult to dismantle, ensuring he could play with them properly.

“Sonny brought them here.”

Serenity glanced at her nephew’s small suitcase, recalling how she had seen him stuff a windmill into it.

She smiled and remarked, “Sonny has the most…”

Windmills. Brother Duncan often gifted them to Sonny. Although Duncan had a great fondness for Sonny, he struggled with engaging children. When he first presented a windmill to Sonny, the boy was thrilled, leading Duncan to believe that Sonny adored windmills above all else.
