“It’s getting late; let’s all get some rest,” Audrey suggested to the group.
Even though everyone typically enjoyed staying up late and didn’t feel particularly tired, they took Audrey’s advice. Those staying at the Queen family’s home returned to their guest rooms, while the others made their way back to their usual hotels.
Zachary, who was staying at the Fortress Hotel, had just settled onto the sofa in his room when his phone rang.
He suspected it was his beloved wife calling.
Sure enough, the caller ID confirmed it was a video call from Serenity.
His serious, handsome expression immediately softened as he answered the call.
The first thing he saw was Sonny’s adorable face.
“Uncle!”
Sonny beamed with joy upon seeing Zachary. He smiled brightly and called out to him, then turned to Serenity and said, “Aunt, it’s Uncle.”
Serenity leaned closer to the camera so Zachary could see her. “Are you back at the hotel?” she asked.
Zachary nodded. “I just returned from the meeting and had barely sat down when I got your call. Sonny, it’s late—why aren’t you asleep yet?”
Sonny replied, “I don’t have kindergarten tomorrow. I’m on winter vacation!”
During his vacation, both his mother and aunt allowed him to stay up a bit later.
Noticing Zachary’s tired expression, Serenity expressed her concern, “You’re working so hard; don’t overexert yourself. Sonny will feel terrible if you’re too worn out.”
Sonny chimed in, “Yes, I will feel bad for my uncle.”
Zachary smiled. “Thank you for caring about me, Sonny. Seren, don’t you feel bad for me too?”
Serenity replied, somewhat evasively, “When you return, I’ll cook…”

“You can make me something delicious,” she said.
In truth, her concern for him surpassed that of anyone else.
Naturally, he felt the same way about her.
Their love was reciprocal, profound, and everlasting.
“Just wait for me to pick you up, and then you can prepare something tasty for me. Is our baby behaving well?”
Although the couple had only been apart for a short time, Zachary felt as if years had passed.
Despite their marriage lasting a while, being away from Serenity created a deep, almost unbearable longing within him.
“Well, if you don’t come to pick Sonny and me up, we’ll be celebrating New Year’s at FC Manor. Sonny is so happy here; he plays with Titus every day and nearly forgets where he came from.
Our baby is growing stronger by the day, and the movements are becoming more pronounced. We’ll see how obedient they are once they arrive. Based on these movements, I suspect our child might be quite mischievous.”
“That’s alright. Weren’t we all a bit naughty in our youth? They say mischievous kids are often smarter. Our child will be very clever,” Zachary replied affectionately. Regardless of whether their child was naughty, he would love them deeply, as this child was the embodiment of his love with Serenity.
“Uncle, you don’t love me anymore,” Sonny pouted. “You hardly spoke to me and only asked about the baby in Aunt Seren’s belly.”
Sonny’s expression reflected his jealousy. Although he was currently everyone’s favorite, he worried that once his little brother and Aunt Jasmine’s baby arrived, they might steal some of the love and attention.
Still, Sonny was eager to meet his new brothers.
