Chapter 3735
Married At First Sight Chapter 3735
In Chapter 3735 of Married At First Sight, Mr. Labbe’s demeanor shifted as he coldly warned Carrie not to ask inappropriate questions. He made it clear that knowing too much could lead to dire consequences for her.
Terrified, Carrie refrained from asking further questions, though her suspicions only deepened. She feared that Mr. Labbe might strangle her again, and the thought of him killing her loomed large in her mind.
“It’s fine, I was just asking because I haven’t seen her in a while,” Carrie said, attempting to sound casual.
She couldn’t reveal that she was searching for Serenity; doing so might raise Jasmine’s suspicions. Serenity’s friends were perceptive and hard to deceive.
Jasmine responded, “Seren’s been busy with work. I hardly see her either.”
Carrie sensed that Jasmine was lying, and the realization that Serenity’s friends did not trust her frustrated her. Despite having worked for months to gain Serenity’s trust under Mr. Labbe’s orders, she had failed to establish a friendship.
However, considering that Jasmine and Serenity had been classmates for over ten years, Carrie regained some confidence. She believed that, given time, she could integrate into their social circle. Nevertheless, she worried that Mr. Labbe might not be patient enough with her progress.
It irritated her. Why was it so challenging to get close to Serenity? She had even used a double in front of Camryn, and Camryn hadn’t noticed. Didn’t that prove she and Mrs. Labbe were distinct individuals?
Carrie kept these frustrations to herself. Though she was more mature now, she still had her impulsive moments. Mr. Labbe’s threats had instilled a sense of caution in her. She understood that he was not bluffing—he would kill her if she failed.
“Mrs. York is pregnant and still working hard. She’s a strong woman, truly admirable,” Carrie said with a smile, complimenting Serenity.
“Seren has always been ambitious,” Jasmine replied. “When we worked together in the store, she never took a break. She was constantly making handicrafts to sell online.”
Carrie was familiar with Serenity’s past. She had once faced poverty, having lost her parents and relied on her sister, Liberty. Liberty’s ex-husband’s family harbored resentment toward Serenity for living with them.
Carrie had previously believed that Serenity was wrong for staying with her married sister, but now she realized something important: when a man cheats and falls out of love with his wife, he not only becomes impatient with her but also with her family. Because Hank no longer loved Liberty, he began to resent Serenity as well.
The breakdown of Liberty and Hank’s marriage was ultimately Hank’s fault. When they first married, Liberty had been open about Serenity living with them, and Hank had agreed. However, as his love for Liberty faded and he cheated, he grew frustrated with Serenity’s presence and became dissatisfied with Liberty, too.
In reality, Serenity contributed to the household by paying for her own food and helping out around the house, even caring for the children. Nowadays, hiring a nanny costs thousands, but Serenity did all of this for free. Yet, Hank still looked down on her.
If Serenity didn’t care deeply for her sister, why would she stay? Hank was the one in the wrong—not Liberty or Serenity.
