The tall, slender man stood frozen, as if he had encountered a terrifying specter, stripped of its skin. His eyes widened in horror, his mouth agape, yet no sounds escaped him.
He would have never imagined that the figure before him, looking more wretched than any clown, was none other than Boss Dean, the very man he had long admired and followed.
As Dean caught sight of him, a reflexive urge to call for help surged within him, but the toilet brush obstructed his voice. In his desperate struggle, blood and saliva erupted from his mouth, splattering the tall man and sending a jolt of fear through him.
It was common knowledge that Dean had a notoriously bad temper. While others might have relished the drama unfolding before them, nearly everyone, with the exception of the tall man, dared not approach the scene, leaving them oblivious to the details.
Overwhelmed by terror, the tall man instinctively tried to retreat. However, before he could take a step back, Charlie swiftly kicked him hard in the chest.
With a loud thud, the tall man was propelled backward, soaring through the bathroom door and crashing into the opposite wall. He fell silent, completely unconscious.
The sudden commotion startled the other inmates, who instinctively rushed over to witness the chaos, only to find Dean in a pitiful state.
Everyone was momentarily stunned, unable to process the sight before them. Just then, Charlie forcefully pulled the toilet brush from Dean’s mouth, sneering as he addressed him, “So, what do you want to do now? Say what you were planning to say.”
As soon as the brush was removed, Dean’s immediate impulse was to shout, “Kill him!”
Yet, when the words reached his lips, they stuck. Deep down, he understood that Charlie’s strength was overwhelming in this confined space.
Even if Dean commanded his subordinates to attack, it was uncertain whether they would survive, and he was certain Charlie would retaliate for his defiance.
Noticing Dean’s silence, Charlie slapped him sharply across the face, delivering a cold remark: “Weren’t you just full of bravado? As soon as I walked in, you couldn’t stop talking. What’s with the silence now?”
The force of the slap knocked several of Dean’s teeth loose, leaving him in excruciating pain, as if countless iron needles were stabbing at his brain.
Witnessing Dean’s beating left the others in shock.
They were well aware of Dean’s formidable fighting skills, and seeing him reduced to such a pitiful state made it clear that even he was no match for Charlie.
Consequently, everyone instinctively backed away, unwilling to provoke Charlie any further.
Charlie then pulled up a plastic chair and positioned himself in front of the dozen or so onlookers. He picked up the bloodied toilet brush and flicked it onto the ground, leaving a vivid red line.
With a calm demeanor, Charlie declared, “I appreciate your cooperation. You now have three seconds to line up behind this line. If anyone isn’t in line by the time I count to three, I will break a leg.”
With that, he raised a finger and shouted, “One!”
As soon as the word left his mouth, Dean fought to stand behind the red line marked by his own blood.
Charlie raised another finger and announced, “Two!”
Despite their shock, witnessing Dean—the victim—react so quickly compelled the others to comply, and they quickly lined up behind the red line.
